Celebration Party for the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and the 60th Anniversary of P. R. China [中文]
The traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn festival is coming soon (on Saturday, October 3). The mid-autumn festival is one of the most important traditional Chinese festival. In the meanwhile, October 1st of this year is the 60th Anniversary of the People's Republic of China. Ambassador Lan Lijun visited Moncton and presented the ceremonial dragons and Lions to GMCCA [中文]

His Exencllency Lan Lijun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Canada visited Moncton on Thursday, September 10, 2009 and presented, on behalf of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, the precious gifts, Chinese dragon and lion costumes, to the Greater Moncton Chinese Cultural Association on a ceremony held at Moncton City Hall.Over 100 Chinese and public attended the ceremony.

Before the ceremonial dragons and lions were hoisted in the air, they were eye-dotted by Ambassador Lan Lijun, Moncton Mayor George LeBlanc and Riverview Mayor Clarence Sweetland. Please click [here] to read more details and pictures of the ceremony.

GMCCA Invited to Participate in Moncton Multicultural Festival and Fredericton Multicultural Festival 2009
The 5th Moncton Multicultural Festival was held on Thursday, June 25 through Canada Day, Tuesday, July 1st, 2009. GMCCA was invited to the festival and presented traditional Chinese songs and dances on Saturday, June 27, 2009. This was the 4th time for GMCCA to present Chinese culture on this festival since 2006.

GMCCA was also invited for the first time to participate in Fredericton Multicultural Festival 2009 and presented Chinese dances and songs on the festival on Saturday, June 27, 2009.

GMCCA Successfully Held Chinese New Year Party 2009 
GMCCA has successfully held the Chinese New Year Party 2009 on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Bernice MacNaughton High School in Moncton. It was one of the most important annual events organized by GMCCA. Over 400 people attended the party. Among VIP guests attended the celebration party included Mr. Brian Murphy, MP for Moncton-Dieppe-Riverview; Mr. George Leblanc, Mayor of City of Moncton; Mr. Clarence Sweetland, Mayor of Town of Riverview and representative of City of Dieppe.  [See photos of the party]
The 2008 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Election of the President for the 4th Council of GMCCA was held in the Multipurpose Room, YMCA of Greater Moncton on Saturday, December 6, 2008. Ms. Jing Teng was elected the new president of GMCCA. She has assumed the presidency. [More details ....]

Counsellor Li Guixi Visited Moncton and Provided On-Site Services on Sunday, November 30, 2008

A group of officials, lead by Counsellor and Consul General Li Guixi of the Embassy of the P. R. China in Canada visited Moncton and provided convenient on-site services for the Chinese community in Metro Moncton from 3:00PM through 4:30PM on Sunday, November 30, at Moncton Flight College, 1719 Champlain Street, Dieppe, NB E1A 7P5. The officials visited Moncton Flight College after the on-site services session. Moncton Chinese Community Participated in the Greater Moncton Santa Claus Parade 2008

The 41st Greater Moncton Santa Claus Parade was held at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 29, 2008. GMCCA participated, in partnership with the Confucius Institute in New Brunswick, in the parade this year. It was the 2nd time for the Chinese community in Moncton to participate in the parade. The last time was in early 1980s. Hence it was the first time for the Chinese community to show up on the parade in more than twenty years. [中文] 

Cultural Counsellor Haisheng Zhao Visited Moncton, NB

A group of officials from the Cultural Department of Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Canada and reporters of Xinhua News Agency in Canada visited Moncton, New Brunswick on September 26-27, 2008. Lead by Cultural Counsellor Haisheng Zhao, the group met GMCCA and discussed the feasibility of bringing professional cultural delegations from China to present performances in Moncton, NB. GMCCA Held A Celebration Party for Traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and Beijing Olympics Games 2008 

According to the meeting of GMCCA council memebers and invited representives held on Monday, August 4, GMCCA held a celebration party for the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn festival and for success of the Beijing Olympics Games on Sunday, September 14. The mid-autumn festival is one of the most important traditional Chinese festival. The 29th International Olympics Games held in Beijing in August  2008 was the biggest and most successful one in its history. [More details ...]
