Notice of the 2013 GMCCA Annual General Meeting[中文]

According to the council meeting held on November 2, 2013, GMCCA will host its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at 5:00pm on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (77 Hildegard Drive,Moncton). Agendas will include 

1)      Work Report for the period from December 2012 to December 2013.

2)      Financial Report for the period from December 2012 to December 2013.

3)      Suggestions and proposals for the future year.

4)      Buffet dinner

The AGM is open to registered GMCCA members only. Attached please find a copy of the latest member list. Please remember to renew your membership if it is overdue. If you are not a GMCCA member and would like to attend the AGM, you can come and register as a GMCCA member before the meeting.

Your supports to the association and its events and activities in the past year are appreciated very much. We look forward to have your continuous involvements and supports to the association and its events in the future.

Moncton Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival Party 2013
The traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival is coming soon. It is one of important traditional Chinese festivals and to celebrate the harvest of a year. It is also time for family and friends to get together to enjoy the beautiful full moon and delicious moon cakes.


GMCCA will participate in 2013 Mosaiq Multicultural Festival [中文]

The annual Mosaiq Multicultural Festival will be held on July 19 & 20, 2013 in Moncton. As an active participant of this important annual multicultural festival since 2006, the Greater Moncton Chinese Cultural Association will have an exhibition booth at the festival this year and will present 30 minutes cultural performances at the International Stage in front of Moncton City Hall at 2:00pm on Satuday, July 20, 2013.

Flag raising ceremony of Asian heritage month celebration [中文]

The organizing committee of Greater Moncton Asian Heritage Month celebration will hold the flag raising ceremony of Asian heritage month at 12:00 noon on Monday, May 6, 2013 at City Hall of Moncton, 655 Main Street, Moncton,New Brunswick,Canada  E1C 1E8.

In addition to raising a special flag which is composed of the national flags of Canada and five Asian countries -- China, South Korean, India, Philippines and Vietnam where major Asian communities in Metro Moncton come from, featured cultural performances and finger food will be presented at the ceremony as well.

Asian Heritage Month was celebrated first time in Metro Moncton in 2007. The celebration of Asian Heritage Month was then jointly organized by the Greater Moncton Asian Heritage Society, Multicultural Association of Greater Moncton Area and five Asian ethnic associations in Metro Moncton -- the Greater Moncton Chinese Cultural Association, Korean Association of Moncton, the Indo-Canada Association of Moncton, Filipino Association of New Brunswick and Vietnamese Association of Moncton since 2009. The organizing committee of of Greater Moncton Asian Heritage Month celebration is composed of representatives from the above-mentioned associations and Asian communities in Metro Moncton.

The most important Chinese traditional festival – Chinese Luar New Year will be on Sunday, February 10, 2013. As one of its annual events to celebrate traditional Chinese festivals, GMCCA will host the Chinese New Year Party 2013 on Sunday, February 10, 2013 to celebrate the arrival of Year of Snake. The party will be open to both Chinese and public who are interested in Chinese culture and Chinese food. Tickets for the party are available for sale  [More details...].
